A FAMILY AFFAIR
Zerbosco was founded in 2015 with the idea of enhancing the quality of the grapes cultivated in our vineyards which are located in the area of Montù Beccaria.
Having inherited the vineyards from his father Angelo, Ermano has then handed down to his son the ability to cultivate the vine together with his collection of knowledge and tradition learnt from his family and from the surrounding environment.
This precious heritage, together with the knowledge that Alessandro took from his studies and travels abroad, had let them decide to run the family business through a sustainable agriculture based on the Nature and vines’ respect. The goal is to produce wines that are the maximum expression of the vineyard they come from.

OUR VINEYARD
Seven different vineyards in just over four hectares of land, all with different characteristics. Our goal is to enhance this diversity. Our goal is to enhance this diversity.
The power, finesse and elegance of our wines are rooted in the hillside vineyards, in sandy and limestone soils at an altitude of 300 meters, with different exposures and microclimates. Great wines are always born in particularly suitable territories.

The vines live in perfect symbiosis with the natural balance and with an ideal microclimate. The vegetative-productive balance of the plant is fundamental for us. At the beginning of the season, sucking off and removing non-productive shoots, are important operations to improve exposure and therefore the microclimate of the bunch. We maintain an optimal ratio between leaves and bunches for the ripening of the grapes. Based on this principle, we adapt the topping and defoliation interventions.

In the cellar, the man is the director and the vineyard is the absolute protagonist. Our task is to enhance the original characters and intrinsic properties that the terroir has given the grapes throughout the season.
The hand-picked bunches in baskets arrive in the cellar fresh and intact to preserve their natural characteristics. From this moment they undergo careful processing to fully respect their organoleptic qualities, trying to extract and enhance them.
Destemming and transport to the tank take place in a protected atmosphere. The grapes from each vineyard are vinified separately. We want the wines to keep the imprint of the vineyard and the terroirthey come from.
In wine-making we follow a traditional protocol, limiting the interventions that take away character from the wine, aware of the richness of the heritage we have collected; we therefore try to provide them with the best conditions, without any preclusion from using innovative techniques.
Aging is also a key period where time and the winemaker’s savoir-faire come together and the wines take shape and reveal their personality and potential.
